Matthew Swift:
Matthew Swift is a sorcerer, trained by Robert Bakker, teacher of Penny Ngwenya. Bakker's shadow came to life and killed Matthew some years ago. Two years later, he came back to life--with an addition.
The blue electric angels:
The blue electric angels share consciousness with Matthew. The divide between them is fluid. The angels are the product of the leftover life that humans give to the phones. If you've ever heard words under the dial tone, that's them.
The Midnight Mayor:
The Midnight Mayor, whose role is now filled by Matthew and the angels, is the supernatural protector of London. He's the city's greatest defense against the worst monsters out there.
